Mt Rainier Couples Shoot | Dennis + Anya
Hello hello!
Every once in a while there’s a session you have that’s just unreal, in both the way the day went and the final product. And that was this session! If it doesn’t give you all the I’m-in-Switzerland, Sound of Music vibes I don’t know what will.
Anya is a fellow PNW photographer with an eye for the details, so when she got in touch with me about doing a session with her husband, Dennis, I knew it was going to be a good one!
Anya had told me she wanted to be somewhere intimate and romantic, a place outdoors where she and Dennis could be enveloped by a quiet scene... but was neutral enough that they could create the space to be their own. A big ask to some, but for me, I was up for the challenge.
After some research, I decided on a Mt. Rainier clearing that I’d had my eye on for a while. Rolling hills, a gorgeous lake and a huge mountain that would make the scene so idyllic I knew that Anya would absolutely love it!
So on the day of the session, we hiked out to our spot and just had a gut feeling that this gallery would turn out to be one for the books. And with that feeling, we got to work!
Dennis and Anya were absolute rockstars and one of the most perfect couples to photograph. They were fun, comfortable in front of the camera and just happy to be together so our session was non-stop laughs and creativity. While I was shooting, Anya took a few film photos and even let Dennis try his hand at it. They ran through the hills and stole quiet moments in between. And at the end of the session they finally shared why they were so particular about where their session was… and it was a surprise I wasn’t at all expecting, but so happy to be a part of!
That said, while you scroll through to see what their surprise was, I hope you hear Julie Andrews serenade you!!!!
Yours,
Annie
