Hi friend!

I’m finally getting around to sharing Andrew and Kaley’s session today, and man oh man, one thing that’s so cool about living in Oregon is that with the seasons changing, the entire landscape of one space has the ability to transform into a completely new place. Now I’ve shot at Rowena Crest a few different times (and at a few different times of year) but what never ceases to amaze me is how the galleries can look worlds apart from one another just by a span of a few weeks!

But this got me thinking… One question that I get quite a bit is the topic of outfits, specifically what to wear (or what to encourage your partner to wear) for a session. And to be honest with you, the answer I give and the best advice I can give you is to keep things as natural as possible!

Keep the tones as neutral and earthy as possible, but also keep in mind the time of year. Are we in the middle of an Oregon summer where the fields turn gold or are we in spring where everything is a vibrant green? As much of a broken record as this sounds, you can never go wrong with neutrals!

Lastly. Ladies! If your partner is digging their heels in over the debate of style over comfort try suggesting khaki, black or olive pants! While the top half might still be an outstanding debate, the bottom half will seemingly go with any of the Oregon landscapes and help give your gallery a wonderfully aesthetic, vintage look!

Anyway I hope this helps you plan your next milestone (or just because) session because at the end of the day you want to look back and see you and your favorite person and be proud of the chapter you're documenting!
