Kiholo Bay Hawaii Elopement | Caleb + Cece
The Big island of Hawaii is like my second home - I got to call this wonderful island my home for about a year, and it was a year to remember!
The Big Island of Hawaii is the biggest island and offers diverse terrain - from lush green rainforests, epic waterfalls, warm sandy beaches, to lava and snow covered mountaintops. The Big Island has it all!
I planned a trip back to this beautiful island with my friends in September and we had a blast getting to explore all the island has to offer. We ate countless açaí bowls, made multiple trips to the best coffee shop in town - Kona Mountain Coffee and enjoyed every moment that we could swimming in the warm, blue sea. We spent our time time by putting miles on our jeep by exploring both sides of the island, and finding new hikes and chasing epic views!
While we were on the big island of Hawaii, I also got to shoot an intimate elopement. It’s extremely rare for it to rain in Kona, Hawaii, but of course, it had to be pouring down buckets on this day! (& when I say buckets, I’m not exaggerating!!) We were soaked to the needle, the moment we stepped out of the car!!
Despite the thunderstorm we caught ourselves in, and the dumping rain, we fully embraced it and had so much fun!
You can say this was the definition of a dreamy, tropical, Hawaiian elopement.
Caleb & Cece picked the prefect place for their elopement on a black sands beach at Kihilo Bay. It’s more of a private beach, tucked away on the coast. We ended up having the whole beach all to ourselves! Cece had the cutest flower crown made by Grace Flowers Hawaii, that had the perfect mix of warm and tropical colors and flowers. It couldn’t have been any perfect!
We ended the day by running into the ocean - we were already soaked all the way through so jumping into the salty water was easy! The waves gently crashing against them with the rain pouring down around us, truly made it a magical moment and it was the best way to end the evening!
This Hawaiian Elopement is one for the book. There’s nothing quite like it going in expecting full on sunshine and a golden sunset, and having a thunderstorm roll in and change all the plans. Despite all that - everything turned out to be incredible!
Hawaii is the perfect place if your wanting a small, intimate elopement.
It’s warm, dreamy, and has all the tropical vibes! With vast terrain, from lava and lush green forests to mountain tops, it’s easy to find a place that you’d absolutely fall in love with!
